Glenborrodale Castle, a five-story Scots Baronial house that dates back to 1902, is presently up for sale. It includes two islands.
Built of red Dumfriesshire sandstone, Glenborrodale Castle is situated on the southern side of the magnificent Ardnamurchan Peninsula in the Highland region of Scotland. Its approximately 132.99 acres of grounds encompass the Isle of Risga and Eilean a Feidh.
The property, which is now listed for £3.75 million, is situated in a region with some of the most breathtaking coastline views and a wealth of animals, including deer, porpoises, and otters.
What’s inside, though? Inside, there are sixteen bedroom suites with historic characteristics, three public spaces, a games room, commercial kitchens, and staff quarters.
Previously, the castle served as a hotel and a place for events. It is a “wonderful atmospheric old castle in a very beautiful setting,” according to one 2015 TripAdvisor review, and “it is more like a wonderful house than a hotel,” according to another.
Perched on a high hill overlooking Loch Sunart to the south, Glenborrodale Castle commands a panoramic view that includes the islands of Risga, Carna, and Oronsay as well as the Morven Hills to the far north of the loch.
Despite its distant setting, the surrounding settlements of Salen and Acharacle offer a primary school, a dentist, a doctor, shops, and hotels, among other local services.
