Old woman who lived in shoe nursery rhyme ‘proved real’ as boot house found in UK woods

Buried deep under the UK forests is a house shaped like a boot, found by urban explorers. The construction is reminiscent of the one found in the children’s book about the elderly woman who lived in a shoe.

In an attempt to restore the little, moss-covered property to its original state, leaves and vines have started to climb the walls, giving the impression that it has been abandoned for many years.

The boot’s roof is made of wood and appears to have seen better days, but the boot’s stone shape appears to have been totally maintained.

The Abandoned UK Facebook page states that a woman had lived in the property in the 1950s and that explorers who looked in through the window saw that a piece of the building had collapsed in, making it unsuitable to live in or even play in.
