“Introducing the immaculately kept 1902 Historical Landmark home, perfectly positioned on a corner lot between Ocean Avenue and Montauk Avenue. Reputable architect DUDLEY ST. CLAIR DONNELLY designed and owned this distinctive Queen Ann Spanish Victorian Revival. He purchased the property in 1897. It was created by Dudley and completed in 1902; they used it as their main home from that year until 1909. the well-known creator. They sold the land to Dr. Edward H. Angle in 1909, and he left in 1916 to build a house by the same architect in Los Angeles, California, on the same street and number.Drawings and National Historic Landmarks suggest that this splendid mansion was rightfully named the “Dr. Edward H. Angle Home,” after “The Father of American Orthodontics.” Numerous significant structures in New London County, including the Groton Library, Groton Congregational Church, Tyler House at Eastern Point Beach, New London Ship and Engine Co. (later Electric Boat), etc., are the result of Dudley’s architectural design. He has kept this house immaculately and added all the same careful architectural elements. This property has a granite foundation throughout, original brick columns with stucco on the outside, and a wrap-around porch with unusual trim.
