Charming 1930s Brick Tudor Revival Replaced by Boxy Brutalist Cube

Believe it or not, we actually love Brutalist architecture. There’s just something about showcasing the bare building materials and structural elements that is so interesting. Brutalist architecture is not for everyone and there is certainly a time and a place for it, and this was neither the time or place. Lined with trees and architecturally unique historic homes, this charming neighbourhood has fallen victim to several redevelopment projects. This particular Tudor Revival was likely built in the 1930s and showcased stone accents, intricate brickwork, and a tall elaborate chimney prominently featured on the front facade. The new build is nearly 5,700 square feet with 5 bedrooms & 7 bathrooms. The neighbouring home to the left was also redeveloped. Photography by Google Streetview.
